Our sexual health clinic in Nashville, Tennessee is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for those living with HIV. We offer comprehensive health care services for LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as free resources for testing. A new HIV diagnosis can be overwhelming, and navigating the health system and insurance can be daunting. That's why we strive to provide our patients with the care and support they need and deserve.
At the Nashville CARES clinic at My House, we understand the importance of connecting and engaging with our patients. We believe that comprehensive regulation and an authorized monitoring system for the implementation of guidelines would help to ensure that all patients receive high-quality care on a consistent basis, regardless of their geographical location. To this end, we conducted a qualitative study to explore how positive interventions could help to promote the link between HIV-positive individuals and care. Our research suggested that hospitals and clinics should hire and train HIV-positive volunteers to provide counseling in both hospital and community settings.
This would allow for more flexible schedules in convenient locations, as well as reduce the anxiety of those who have yet to initiate care. Unfortunately, many participants reported that healthcare providers had never contacted them to discuss their health status, the availability of care, or their progress during care. We are committed to changing this by providing our patients with the resources they need to access quality care outside of downtown Nashville. We look forward to being valued members of your support system.
